Democratic Rep. Alcee Hastings (Fla.) just said this in the most powerful committee of the United States House of Representatives. The people's house:
"There ain't no rules here, we're trying to accomplish something. . . .All this talk about rules. . . .When the deal goes down . . . we make 'em up as we go along."

Who gets the blame for the recession?
http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/obama_administration/february_2010/bush_still_blamed_for_bad_economy
The lead is misleading. The internals are more intriguing.
Young voters, less likely to vote in the midterms, are most likely to blame Bush. However, the "middle class" who make between $40,000 and $75,000 are more likely to blame Obama.
And any blame that Bush may receive for presiding over the beginning of the downfall does not translate into trusting Obama's intervention in the economy over individual liberties or free markets. Americans are more likely to see Republicans, not Democrats, as more trustworthy on crafting an economic solution.
"while most voters place the blame on his predecessor, they still have more confidence in their own economic judgment than in Obama’s. Only 28% of voters trust the president’s judgment more than their own when it comes to economic issues. Sixty-one percent (61%) trust their own judgment more.. 77% of unaffiliated voters – and 79% of Republicans – trust their own economic judgment more than Obama’s.. Voters are more closely divided over which party to trust more on economic issues: 46% trust Republicans more, while 42% trust Democrats."

State of the Union
So, in order to lift his failing approval ratings, Obama has to run against the record of his own party.
Here's how I got there. In order to be useful to Democrats in November, Obama must first lift his own approval ratings. In order to be seen more positively, Obama had to campaign against the shameful behavior of the Congress under a Democrat majority. And then, once Obama has thrown his congressional allies under the bus, he will then attempt to leverage his popularity to help them get back on the proverbial bas and somehow survive reelection. No wonder the Democratic party is becoming so confused and divided.
Obama is trying to walk a tightrope with his convoluted message. Obama is trying to thread the Clintonian needle, implying he is somehow different from the Washington nonsense Americans have come to distrust. And yet he wants Americans to entrust the Democrats who are complicit in this Washington mess. President Obama spoke as a populist outsider against the corruption in Washington. The problem is that the corruption is being demonstrated by his own party.

Instead of wrapping your head around Obama's nonsense, why not watch a classic movie or read a good book.
